Ahtahkakoop Cree Nation and Indigenous Services Canada announced completion of a culturally supportive residential treatment and healing centre in Saskatchewan. The federal government reported a $29.3 million project investment and the First Nation a further $1.8 million for detoxification space that is not yet operational. This is relevant context for Indigenous-led healing, but the announcement does not establish that TRC Call to Action 21 has been fulfilled or that ongoing operating funding is secured.
